A Reflection on Empathy, Courage, and the Power of Love

When someone looks you in the eyes and lets you feel their heart, they are offering you dignity, not fragility. For some, that moment of genuine care might be the only reminder that they matter.

Too often, kindness is mislabeled as being “unhealed” or “too soft.” But in truth, it takes profound strength to hold space for others. It requires courage to witness pain without turning away. Letting love be visible even in the darkest of stories is also powerful.

If you’ve ever been told your empathy makes you weak, remember this: Love looking back at someone shows strength. It is an act of power. It restores what silence, shame, and abuse have tried to take away.

Compassion is not weakness. Compassion is strength.
