When your truth is challenged or your character is attacked, the body often reacts before the mind does.
This grounding tool helps you soften that activation so you can return to clarity, steadiness, and self-recognition.
Step 1 — Feel Your Feet
Place both feet on the floor.
Let your weight drop down — not dramatically, just enough to feel gravity holding you.
Say (quietly or internally):
“I am here. I am safe in this moment.”
Your body needs location before it can access truth.
Step 2 — Release the Shoulders
Most people hold truth in their shoulders without realizing it.
Let your shoulders fall one inch.
Not forced — allowed.
Notice the shift.
That small drop signals to your nervous system:
“The threat is not happening right now.”
Step 3 — Place a Hand Across the Heart
Not for sentiment — for regulation.
Feel the warmth.
Feel the weight.
Let your breath move underneath your hand.
Say internally:
“My truth belongs to me.”
Let that settle.
Step 4 — Name What Is Yours and What Is Not
Character attacks blur responsibility.
This step restores it.
On your inhale, think:
“This is mine.”
(on what is true for you)
On your exhale, think:
“That is theirs.”
(on the story they created)
Repeat 3–4 times.
Your body will feel the separation long before your mind does.
Step 5 — Choose the Energy You Keep
Bring awareness back to your breath.
Let your exhale be slightly longer than your inhale — this signals release.
Say internally:
“I keep what is true. I release what is not mine.”
Truth is a steadiness.
Not a struggle.
Step 6 — Return to Yourself
Notice what shifts:
- your breath
- your shoulders
- your jaw
- your heartbeat
- your internal space
Feel the difference between your truth
and someone else’s projection.
This is self-protection.
This is clarity.
This is the shield you carry now.
